The "Norwich Spiritual Cinema House" is dedicated to showing and discussing thought-provoking, meaningful films, films that ask us, “Who are we?" and "Why are we here?”

Think of us as a film society for your spirit.

The Norwich Spiritual Cinema House is proud to be celebrating our two-year anniversary of bringing uplifting and thought provoking cinema events to the greater Norwich area.

Don't just watch a movie- talk about it afterwards with friends!

Spiritual Cinema ?  

Films allow us the opportunity to let our minds go, if only for a while, to live life through the minds of others.   If we're lucky, when the movie is over we may actually undergo a "vicarious emotional catharsis" just by witnessing the experiences of the characters on screen. 

If you're looking for the standard Hollywood fare with dazzling special effects, big budget names, and slick marketing, visit a multiplex.  There are usually many good movies to choose from (at least during the summer and holiday vacations...), and along with the $8 popcorn, 1000-calorie-gallon-sized soda, and 15 minutes of commercials, you'll be entertained.  

If you want something different, perhaps even challenging, check out the growing new genre called "Spiritual Cinema"--films that make you think.   Come join us as we watch these important, usually independent or limited distribution films, and let your mind open to the myriad of possibilities that is this thing called "life"!   

The "Norwich Spiritual Cinema House" is part of The Unitarian Universalist Church of Norwich, Connecticut, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and one of more than 1000 congregations that are part of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
